Muriatic Acid Wash

Over time any pool naturally begins to age, developing various signs of wear and tear. This occurrence is expected, and with routine maintenance stains can often be quickly removed. While standard pool cleaning is beneficial for the regular care of your pool, it may not be enough to remove all staining. If the winterizing process of a pool is done incorrectly unpleasant “blackening” caused by algae build-up begins to occur. These spots cause a pool to appear dirty and significantly older than it really is.

The most reliable solution to preserve the youthful look of your pool is to service it with a muriatic acid wash. An acid wash is recommended every three to seven years and will effectively remove algae, rust, or any other additional marks. The process is quite simple; a Blue Diamond professional will drain your pool, removing a small layer of plaster from the pool wall to expose fresh plaster. The acid contents are then emptied into the pool left temporarily to soak;  then all stains are scrubbed away. Once we are certain your pool is stain-free, we will safely neutralize the acid prior to pumping the contaminated water out. After treatment, we will re-fill your pool, treating it with the necessary minerals and chemicals to reach accurate pH levels. Relying solely on traditional cleaning methods can be costly depending on the severity of your pool’s condition, and the required chemicals involved. Waterline Tiling

Waterline tiling can be added into any concrete pool restoration plan. This is the most traditional use of pool tile and it makes a dramatic statement. It entails using a decorative border tile just at the top of the pool, usually along the waterline.
